This Privacy and Cookie Policy demonstrates our commitment to protecting your personal information, and describes how we collect, store, use and disclose your personal information. It does not apply to any other site or offline point of contact between the Company, or any other organisations, and consumers.

What Information We Collect

The information that we collect about people who are background checked by Sum and Substance depends on what background check is selected. Please note that in certain jurisdictions where legally possible we may also collect certain specific information, including, but not limited to criminal record, permission to work, certain other information.

We may also collect "demographic information" (i.e. information that you submit, or that we collect, including, but not limited to, postal code, gender, username, age/birth date, browsing history information, registration history information, subject to the rest of this paragraph). Please note that nowhere on the Site do we knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16, as we require that all users represent to us that they are at least 16 years old.

Log data and Cookies

Due to the communications standards on the Internet, we automatically receive the uniform resource locator ("URL") of the website from which you came and the website to which you proceed once you leave the Site. We also receive the IP address of your computer (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), your computer operating system and type of web browser you are using, as well as the name of your Internet service provider ("ISP").
